J-3 Cub Build #19

I had a little time this morning before my hair cut, so I decided to lay up the fin/rudder structure. Mike Midkiff recommended that the fin and rudder be made a single unit structure as shown below. Further Mike recommended that the structural members be 1/8" thick, but only 1/16" wide. The preshaped spline is 1/8" square and I also used two 1/8" square pieces, one for the vertical rudder spar and one to simulate the division between the rudder and the fin at the top of the structure. In addition, you can see the piece of 1/8" sheet that was shaped, drilled, and glued in front of the 1/8"rudder post near the top for the scale bracing wire, which will of course be thread...............Tandy
