52 J-3 Cub Bottom
of Fuselage Covered
As you recall from Report No. 50, I added the
four longeron braces and the two cross member braces to prevent the two
bottom longerons from pulling in across the bottom when it is covered.
Yesterday evening I covered the bottom of the fuselage with a single piece
of tissue as shown below. The tissue came out very smooth without a wrinkle
because the bottom is flat crosswise. As you can see, some of the unsightly
laser burn on the wood shows through near the back where the tail wheel
landing gear is. The top of the fuselage will have to be covered with
several separate pieces because of its contoured shape........Tandy
