Sue's Recovery Status
Sue got a good report from the orthopedic
surgeon Friday. He said she has improved to the point that no surgery is
going to be required. Dr. Woolf gave her a prescription for "passive"
physical therapy twice a week at Arlington Memorial Hospital. We are go
back to see him again in three weeks. So Sue and I went to church this
morning and then out to breakfast. We got home just in time to watch the
Cowboys beat Kansas City in overtime.
Therefore, I only had a chance to work on the
Rocketeer A for a short while today, but I did manage to accomplish the
beveling required to correct my mistake. If you recall, in my last report
I indicated that I had to come up with an acceptable way to do the
unexpected beveling illustrated below.
Before Beveling
This was accomplished free hand by first
grinding down the two edges of the 1/8" plywood firewall using a Dremel
barrel sander. Portions of the balsa frame work was masked off with
masking tape so that a bar sander could be used to bevel the sides without
accidentally taking off too much of the balsa frame work. The results are
shown below.
After Beveling
The required beveling is clearly seen from a
front view as shown below.
