 Sailplane Construction Project Session #139

Comet Sailplane Project

Not much interesting to report this evening as I have been clear doping all day. I placed the twelve (12) Sailplane components on the work table and took the picture below for you to see. I think there is getting to be more of a contrast between the yellow and orange silk now that I am using the Castin Craft dye in the clear dope.

The table below shows the current status of my 50/50 clear nitrate doping log. Hopefully by tomorrow, there will be 3's in all of the table's entries.

What is next?
I plan to mix up two jars of 40% clear nitrate dope/ 60% thinner with some added retarder for good penetration. I will add yellow and orange dye tint, respectively, to each jar and apply the final few coats of clear dope. After that, I will let the dope completely dry out for about a week before I mask off and paint on the black trim. Then I will set up to spray on the Klass Kote satin epoxy for fuel proofing........................Tandy
