After soaking the three 1/24" X 1/8" balsa strips
in hot water for about hour, Titebond was put between the three strips
and the spline formed around the composite card board form. During the
forming process, balsa pieces were pinned against the spline to hold its
shape up against the card board template while it dries overnight. As seen
in the picture below, the strips were long enough to form the spline
completely around the left side of the horizontal
